Can we make sense of suffering?

Is it possible to make sense of suffering? Does God have anything to say which might help us understand or face it? For our TimeOut service on 11 March 2012, we considered these difficult questions by hearing some of what the Bible teaches about suffering, then listening to Fiona King talking about her experience of knowing God through serious long-term pain. An MP3 recording of the evening is available for download if you'd like to hear the talks (the recording starts with David speaking about suffering, then Fiona tells her story starting about half-way through).

Exodus 7.3: Why does God harden Pharaoh's heart?

In Exodus 7.3, God says that he will harden Pharaoh's heart, so that Pharaoh will reject Moses' request to let the Israelite people go. Why does God do that? This short video expands on this question from our morning sermon on Exodus this week.
