Do I have to give money?New to Church?

Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about our Church.

Key information about the church...

Where & when does the church meet?

Our Church meets every Sunday for our Sunday Services. Please see Sunday Services for details. Aim to arrive 15 minutes early to ensure you get a parking spot and seat in time for the service to start.

We meet at:

Church Office
St Patrick’s Centre
Park Hill Road
Wallington
SM6 0RQ

You can see a map on our contact us page

How do I get in?

On arrival at the site (address above), make your way to the main entrance off the car park. At our morning service, if it has already started someone might direct you down the South side of the church building where you will find an entrance,. If you are attending one of our services there will be somebody at the door to welcome you and answer any questions you have. Disabled access is available through all our entrances.

What is the parking like?

We have a church car park which contains two disabled parking spots and electric charging points. There are also bike racks. The car park often fills up before services and so we recommend you arrive early if you wish to park in the car park. The streets surrounding the church are free parking and require just a short walk to the church  building. Please be considerate to our neighbours when parking.

What should I expect when I visit the church?

You will receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go. We have a number of different services at St Patrick's:

Traditional Communion

On the 1st & 3rd Sunday of each month, the day starts with a quiet and short service tapping into our historical heritage using the traditional language of the Book of Common Prayer.

Morning Service
Our main gathering on a Sunday is this lively and welcoming service, in which we sing songs and hymns, listen to what God is saying to us through the Bible, and pray. It's fine just to come along and see what goes on, or join in as you feel like it. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after the service where there is plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions.

3pm Service:
On the 4th Sunday of the month we have a simple and traditional afternoon service with hymns.

LifeTime:
The LifeTime Cafe kicks off from about 5.40pm every Sunday, with coffee, cake, and good company - then the service itself runs from 6-7.15pm. We meet in the church, with the chairs arranged around tables. The format is informal, but with similar elements to most church services: we'll usually sing and pray together, and hear part of the Bible read and explained. LifeTime often includes some slightly more interactive elements, too: sometimes there will be an opportunity to discuss part of the evening's topic, or some more creative ways of praying or thinking through what we've looked at from the Bible.

What happens to the kids at church?

Children, youth and adults alike join together for a lively (and sometimes noisy!) first 15 minutes each morning service. After that, there are separate activities laid on for those aged up to 14, which run until 11.45am (when the service finishes too). These activities are a fun-filled opportunity for the children to learn more about Jesus. There is no need to book beforehand, just turn up to one of our morning services.

Please do not worry about the behaviour of your children, we want them to enjoy church in the best way they can. There's plenty of time for quiet once they've gone to their groups!

Click here for more information about what goes groups there are for children: Children and Youth Groups

What if I or somebody I bring has additional needs?

At St Patrick's we believe everyone is welcome to join in at any of our services or activities. In the church building we have installed hearing aid loops and for each service we have large print order of services which includes the hymns.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all! You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.

Do I have to give money?

No, there is no obligation that you will have to give money. However, as a church we do rely on the generosity of our church members who give regularly towards to work and ministry of the church. Sometimes we might do an appeal for money to fund a specific project.
